Scotland and Glasgow wait on Bennett injury

9:02 AM GMT

Scotland and Glasgow Warriors face a nervous wait over the severity of the shoulder injury Mark Bennett sustained at the weekend.

Bennett picked up the knock in Glasgow’s loss at Racing 92 and is unlikely to be fit for their final two Champions Cup pool matches while Scotland will be monitoring the situation to see if he is fit for their Six Nations opener against England on February 6.

“Mark’s injury is obviously a concern in that he went off and we will have to see how he reacts over the next couple of days,” said Warriors head coach Gregor Townsend in the Daily Mail. “We will assess him as he did take a bad knock near the end that forced him to come off. We will know much more about his condition soon.”

Bennett made four appearances for Scotland in the Rugby World Cup, scoring three tries.
