All Black Fekitoa opens up on anger issues

All Blacks centre Malakai Fekitoa has opened up on his issues with anger.

Fekitoa, who has 13 caps for New Zealand, posted a lengthy statement on his Instagram page to his 173,000 followers in which he called for those facing similar struggles to ask for help.

“I’ve got a huge problem with anger. I don’t handle some situation very well on and off the field,” Fekitoa wrote. “I get really angry sometimes and flip out so I would like to Apologize publicly to any of you if I ever said something really hurtful to you at home, on the field and through social media.

“I’m ashamed and regretful, Lesson learnt. I suggest that no matter how old you are or who you are. Whatever it is. You need to speak to someone about it. Your feelings and what’s inside you. Its never bad until it will cost you. #CallOutForHelp”

Fekitoa was part of the New Zealand side that won the 2015 World Cup and plays for the Highlanders in Super Rugby.
