As we count down to the British & Irish Lions squad announcement for the second Test against the All Blacks, much of the debate has centered around who Warren Gatland should pick in the second row in Wellington.
There was plenty of reaction on social media last week after Maro Itoje was named on the bench for the first Test despite his strong performance against the Maori All Blacks earlier in the tour as Gatland went for the experience of Alun Wyn Jones and line-out caller George Kruis.
The Jones-Kruis combination lacked the dynamism to combat the All Blacks world class lock-pairing in the first Test led by 2014 World Rugby player of the year Brodie Retallick.
Itoje made an impact from the bench with a lineout steal and a strong tackle, but it mattered little as the Lions fell to a 30-15 defeat.
The second row is an area that Lions have a serious strength in depth which was showcased on Tuesday as Iain Henderson and Courtney Lawes impressed in the 31-31 draw with the Hurricanes.
Lawes was substituted midway through the second half by Kruis, leading many to believe the Northampton Saints lock will be in the Test 23 on Saturday.
Former British & Irish Lion Adam Jones has had his say in his ESPN column, encouraging the Lions to start with Itoje and Jones.
