All Blacks vs. Lions: Social reaction

12:53 PM BST

At the Westpac Stadium Warren Gatland’s British & Irish Lions levelled the series as a result of an enthralling and dramatic Test match.

It was New Zealand’s first loss at home since 2009 and ensures that there’s absolutely everything to play for back at Eden Park in a week’s time.

With so many twists, turns and talking points we’ve broken down how social media reacted to the colossal second Test.

Of course the first major incident of the game arrived on 24 minutes as Jérôme Garcès handed Sonny Bill Williams a red card for a high challenge on Anthony Watson.

The incident had statisticians searching for the last time an All Black had received a red card in a Test match. Our rugby editor Tom Hamilton answered that question, while others reacted to the sending off.

First All Blacks red card since 1967…

That was ridiculous. At the speed they collided he did not have enough time to adjust his line and was bracing for impact. Yellow not Red

Must be red!! #off

The two sides went into the changing rooms at half-time level at 9-9 and from there New Zealand opened up an 18-9 lead due to the Lions’ ill-discipline. Once the Lions started to find their feet and Taulupe Faletau flew over for a try things started to look a little more positive for three-time Lions tourist Simon Shaw!

Cccooooooommmmmmeeeee ooooooon!!! You beauties!!!! @lionsofficial that’s more like it!!!!

After Conor Murray exploited a gap around the fringes and Owen Farrell converted, the final moments proved to be testing on everyone’s nerves even those that have handled some pretty intense rugby situations!

This is unbearable… @BrianODriscoll @KennyLogan #LionsNZ2017

After Garcès’ full time whistle praise flew in from all sides for the series-levelling squad and equally for the reaction of the All Blacks to their first home loss in a very long time.

Great result for the series.. Amazing last 10 mins to watch.. Huge effort from the @allblacks with 14 #LionsNZ0217

How good is it that it’s coming down to the last test brilliant for both teams so fitting for the occasion the lions bring. I’m excited
